Abstract
Valle, Arredondo, and Fowler analyze the sudden growth and development of Latine businesses on East Lake Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota that occurred between the 1990s and 2020. The authors propose that Latine-owned businesses flourished on the East Lake Street due to significant support and opportunities provided by cultural hubs and nonprofit organizations existing within the neighborhood. Their findings suggest that nonprofit developmental organizations have a significant influence on the economic development of an ethnic enclave.
