Abstract
On April 14, 2022, the UK and Rwanda Migration and Economic Development Partnership, known more commonly as the Rwanda Asylum Plan, was enacted. The referendum between the two countries is a landmark agreement that if passed in international courts could have a widespread global impact, primarily in the UK and Rwanda. The thesis of this argumentative research paper is the explanation as to why this decision is harmful to the two countries, and how it will have such an effect. It will also explore the implications and ramifications of future, similar negotiations between Global North and Global South nations.
