Why submit an article to the Macalester Street Journal?

What can be submitted?
- Academic papers written for Political Science, Economics, or Geography courses
- Analytical opinion papers on local and national events
- Independent research projects, or self-driven papers
- Have something else not listed? - Contact macstreetjournal@macalester.edu if you have quesitons
How to submit your paper:
- First, register an account with the MSJ
- To do this, click on the register tab on the top right corner of your screen
- Fill out the registration page, and remember your username and password
- You should now be on the main page of the dashboard
- Once you have made it here, click on the “New Submission” button on the upper right hand side of the page
- The first step of the submission process will ask you to specify whether the article falls in the Politics, Economics, or Geography category
- It will also ask you if you’ve fulfilled the submission requirements, and if you have any comments for the editors
- The second step will ask you to upload your given file
- A reminder that your file will need to be submitted in PDF/Word format for the journal to be able to display it correctly
- The third step will ask you to enter details about your submission, including an abstract
- Your abstract should contain a brief description of what your article is about, and what your article looks to discover/argue
- Lastly, you must confirm your submission to finish the process
- You will receive updates about your submission via email during the copyediting and review process.
- You will be notified if your submission is accepted, needs review, or is denied.
